Winter is coming, diapers choices also needs to be seasonal?
It is getting colder, so families have baby/babies start to worry about baby warming issue. They may doubt if the staff baby wears is not warm enough to let baby catch a cold.
So is this the true fact? Let’s do some digging:
Q1: Thicker diapers keep warmer?
Thicker diapers generally contain more fluff pulp and or more cotton fibers. Mothers like thicker diapers are treating the fluff pulp or cotton fibers as warm trousers.
The fact is that thick diapers are of worse breathability. And thicker ones are easy to get piled up during wearing and sleeping, are not convenient to move and limit legs movement and may effect muscle growth even. Bad air circulation of thicker diapers imitate baby skin, thus lead to rash eventually is a huge issue for baby mothers.
Q2. Thicker diapers have better absorbent capacity?
The absorbent capacity has nothing big to do with thickness. It is defined by the absorbent beads in the absorbent layer and the stuffed fluff pulp in the diaper. With different materials, the absorbent effect is different.
As cold winter comes, baby’s outdoor activity reduces, perspiration also decrease, thus baby urinates more. If the diapers are not changed in time, urine flow imitates baby’s soft skin, easily get a rash.
So in winter or in summer, baby mothers are recommended to change a diaper every three hours. If it get stinky or wets much, it need to change immediately.
